Big River by Eamon McGrath

Who: Eamon McGrath from Edmonton, AB.

What: Makes me think Tom Waits is singing old Neil Young b-sides.  ‘13 Songs of Whiskey and Light‘ (April 28th, White Whale) is the album by Edmonton’s Eamon McGrath.  Chosen from a collection of 18 home-recorded albums and over 100 songs, these 13 made the cut.  Sounding like they were written by a songwriter way past Eamon’s 20 years, its an spin that keeps you listening.  A snapshot into the life of a guy who writes, tours, records all the time; playing live with whoever shows up.  Rawness in his voice singing honest lyrics.  Catch him live touring with the White Whale 5 Year Anniversary Tour, stopping in Toronto Thursday, May 7th at the Dakota.  Check here for more details.
