Going Back A Little: Bottom of the Hudson

While I scroll my ipod looking for songs to put on, Bottom Of The Hudson always jumps off the screen at me. Naturally, I click in and choose my favorite song of theirs, ‘Bee Hive‘ (from 2007’s Fantastic Hawk onAbsolutely Kosher). I miss this band and it reminds me of a time when I felt like every which way I turned, there was a new band or song that was blowing my mind. Not to say that 2010 doesn’t have that vibe (and I’m sure in 2013 I’ll be looking back to these days), but the older songs in my ipod are now musical nostalgia, taking me back to a certain time and place that I don’t think about every day. I’m always amazed by musics’ ability to do this.
