By Divine Right

“I Love A Girl”

If you were wondering why its been a while since you've heard music from By Divine Right, its because Jose Contreras has dedicated himself to the studio, recording and producing records for the likes of Lily Frost, The Meligrove Band, Brian Borcherdt, and The Bicycles. 'I Love A Girl' is the lead-off track from the album Mutant Message, By Divine Right’s first new record in five years and its solid front-to-back. Perfect pop perfection with this track as no exception.

Brian Borcherdt

“While I Was Asleep”

While on a break from Holy Fuck's tour schedule Brian performed a handful of recently written songs in Jose Contreras's living room. Most of the final selections were first takes. Little else was added to the guitar and vocal, maintaining the songs intimate and delicate atmosphere. This collection turned into Brian's solo album Coyotes and 'While I Was Asleep' haunts with every strum and whisper. Check out the video

Bishop Morocco

“Disco Guitars (unmastered)”

Formed in the fall of 2008, Bishop Morocco is the re-collaboration of two old friends from Toronto: Jake Fairley (aka Fairmont) of the techno dj scene and James Sayce of bands Tangiers and The Deadly Snakes. Originally playing music together in their early teens, the two have forged their diverse musical paths ‘perched between herky-jerky, new-wave guitars and drum machines, as well as cool synth-pop tones and disaffected vocals.’ (EYE Magazine)

Julie Fader

“Goodbye Before Hello”

A long awaited solo effort from one of Canada’s most dedicated musicians, Julie Fader brings us the album Outside In; a sonically gorgeous, multi-layered record full of warm textures and heartfelt sentiment. Enlisting a talented roster of artists to play on her record (Chad VanGaalen, Tony Dekker (Great Lake Swimmers), Brian Borcherdt, Sarah Harmer, and Justin Rutledge), this multi-instrumentalist will no longer be singing in the background. She’s at home front and centre.

Off the International Radar

“Holy Radar (Off the International Radar vs Holy Fuck)”

At a place in between post, kraut, psychedelic and punk rock; nestled in the hills and valleys of electronic, experimental and drone, is a space that is Off The International Radar (OTIR). From the bands’ Hot Lips EP comes the song ‘Holy Radar’, which is a remix/reworking of bands "E bowl Of Iris" by Holy Fuck. Having sped up the original OTIR song on a record player in studio, Holy Fuck played along and added their own layers. As a result the vinyl record plays as 2 versions. Play at 45 RPM in the spirit of the remix and play it at 33 1/3 RPM in the spirit of the original recording.
