Hey kids,
The year is coming to a close and I’m sitting here looking back on another year of blogging; another year of so many great tunes.
It’s always a challenge to try and sum up your year in one playlist. Here’s my best attempt, with my favourite songs of 2015 (via Soundcloud, Spotify, Youtube and new streaming site Playmoss). In my playlist I feature the likes of Leon Bridges, Day Wave, Big Data, Jack Garratt, Steven. A Clark, and many more.
*Note: This is not meant to be a Top 50 list where #1 is my favourite song. I love them all the same, plus the songs had to go in some order.
Signing off for 2015,
Chris

It’s a bit sad to think that this might be the last month I post a monthly playlist on Rdio, as the service has announced its closing. Of the multiple online platforms I use, Rdio was my favourite and will be missed here at Indie Music Filter. Good thing I’m making these playlists on Soundcloud and Spotify as well. Maybe I’ll bring back Youtube too.
This month’s playlist is an eclectic mix featuring some gems (from bands Wild Ones, St. Lucia, Beach House), collaborations (Ra Ra Riot and Vampire Weekend’s Rostam, j.viewz and Milosh, RAC and Filous) and covers (Great Good Fine OK and Panama Wedding doing “Easy Lover”).
Something for everyone.

“The Less I Know The Better” by Tame Impala, off the album Currents. Spanish creative collective and directors, Canada (Justice, Phoenix, Scissor Sisters, El Guincho) produced the NSFWish clip featuring the usual drama around losing the girl to the high school mascot named Trevor.
Following on from the release of his dreamy ambient take on Tame Impala’s ‘Eventually’, Central Coast-based musician, Pepa Knight, has just unveiled the accompanying music video, which features outstanding visuals documenting his recent travels in Morocco.
The video was shot and compiled as a complete DIY effort; all taken on the enigmatic musicians iPhone. Pepa explains how the clip came together –
“I was working on the final touches of the cover when I was in Morocco for a month. I covered a lot of ground from Casablanca to the all-blue-town Chefchaouen, the Sahara Desert, Taghazout and everywhere in between.
There was a lot of time to think on these jeep rides and trains from place to place, and it became really therapeutic for me working on this song while these landscapes were rolling by.”
– Pepa Knight
The Jinja Safari songwriter / multi-instrumentalist released his first collection of songs titled ‘Hypnotized Vol.I’ in 2014 and received exceptional support via worldwide blogs, triple j and other tastemakers such as Rolling Stone.
Pepa’s cover of ‘Eventually’ precedes the forthcoming release of ‘Hypnotized Vol. II’ – the anticipated follow-up to his debut EP release. The record will be released in early 2016.
