Australian songwriter and producer LANKS shares new track “twentyseven”. The single, which premiered on Triple J Radio, is the title track from his forthcoming album, out April 27th on THAA Records.
LANKS is the moniker of Australian songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Will Cuming.
Although drawing influences from artists such as MØ, Mura Masa, The xx, Justin Vernon and Radiohead, LANKS doesn’t imitate. His songs are adventurous and exploratory while still earworms – boasting strong hooks, melodies, and danceable beats.
LANKS’ debut album, twentyseven (due for release on April 27th), explores a period of growing up, of strengthening relationships and making decisions about priorities in life. “twentyseven is about the anxiety around achievement and how much pressure I had always placed on myself. My heroes — Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain and others — had achieved success by the time they were 27 and I was still younger than that and had potential. This birthday had always loomed over me as a crucial deadline that I had to meet and when I finally reached it I realised that life is about much more than achievement and actually everyone achieves their dreams in their own time. I think when I reached 27 I realised it wasn’t such a big deal.”
Check out new music from Bon Iver, Local Natives, Krief, Krrum, along with IMF newcomers Yoke Lore, Port Of Spain, Mallrat and Ralph.

Producer and multi-instrumentalist LANKS has revealed the official video for latest single “Bitter Leaf”. LANKS stumbled upon LA-based choreographer Leona Morimune scrolling through Instagram, and enamoured by his work, reached out in hopes of a collaboration. Morimune, who was keen to get involved, contacted director Nathan Kim to join. In a strange turn of events, Kim had actually been a dancer in the clip for “The Acid,” co-directed by RY X – LANKS’ cousin.
The collaboration between the three parties resulted in an incredibly raw and beautiful expression of “Bitter Leaf.”
